Why it matters
If your home sits under maples, firs or cedars, gutters can fill again within weeks of a cleaning. Gutter guards are mesh covers that let rainwater through while keeping leaves and needles out of the trough.
Guards have to go onto clean gutters, so we clean and check them first, then cut and fit guards to every run and secure them so they stay put in wind and snow. We run water through afterwards to confirm everything drains.
Guards don't make gutters maintenance-free: some debris can sit on top and needs an occasional rinse. What they do is stop the trough and downspouts from clogging, which is what causes overflow and water damage.

Will I still need gutter cleaning?
Much less often. Most guarded gutters only need an occasional rinse of the top surface instead of a full clean-out.
